Communicating the Gospel in a Pluralistic Society
Each week we will run a question in the bulletin that people can ask their unbelieving friends. I would like folks to write me at my email larry.gray@lhccop.org the responses they are getting.
- What are the fundamental convictions that guide you in your life?
- What gives meaning and purpose to your life?
- Why is accountability important?
- What do you think happens when you die? What will it be like?
- If you were persuaded that Christianity is true, would you change your mind?
I will incorporate the responses at the beginning of each message beginning Aug. 1.
I hope that you will take the lead in this and encourage your home fellowships to reach out in this way to coworkers, friends and neighbors.
My burden over these next weeks is that there are 1000s and 1000s around us who have no interest in any invitation to our events, and that is why we need the strategy that Paul models for us in Acts 17. Not invitation, come and see what we got going on, but invasion! Going into the marketplace where these unbelieving people are found and engaging them where they are in discussion.
To facilitate this you will find that that it is pretty easy to say to a colleague, neighbor who you know is not a Christian that your pastor is doing a series on what people believe in America today and you are helping gather real info to send to him. We will continue with this pattern during this series by suggesting a question each week that you can use and I pray will open doors for useful conversations between yourself and an unbelieving colleague.
